Top 13 Horror Villains

13. Jaws, Jaws

This man eating shark set the bar for horror movies from the 70’s on; with endless teeth, power, and (seemingly) intelligence, it’ll make you think twice before getting into the ocean again.

12. Jack Torrance, The Shining

I can’t think of a greater hard working Joe turned villain.  A man’s shortcomings will set himself up for a paranormal driven massacre, or a failure leading to a frosty death.

11.  The Candyman, The Candyman

Bee’s are scary enough as it is, when controlled by a psychopathic urban legend the terror is amplified.  Not to mention that mirrors and dark bathrooms are enough to freak out most of us.

10.  Pennywise, It

Stephen King, Tim Curry, and Clowns should never be allowed to combine forces again.  It’s bad enough clowns are a common phobia, after this movie you won’t want to see another one for a long time.

9.  Jigsaw, Saw

Intelligence, torture, and brutality are what put this horror villain towards the top.  No matter what you do, it seems the maze he set for you can only go one way, certain death.

8.  Pinhead, Hellraiser

This villain shocks most of us just on his looks alone, add a touch of sadomasochism, blood, demons, and hell and you have a villain that you won’t want to be around for too long.

7.  Ghostface, Scream

This deceptively jaunty character made us all want to never pick up a phone again.

6.  Chucky, Child’s Play

Chucky packs the most concentrated horror villain-ness per any horror movie character, all 2 feet of his body oozes fright in ways that we thought no doll could make us feel.

5.  Leatherface, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Wearing other’s people skin is bound to terrify anyone who is watching, wielding a chainsaw just bumps up the scare level.

4.  Hannibal Lector, The Silence of the Lambs

Power, wealth, intelligence, and did I mention cannibalism? Nothing get’s past Hannibal Lector, people are his game and it rarely doesn’t go his way.

3.  Jason Voorhees, Friday the 13th

The Kill King, with the most horror villain kills, this ‘pretty’ looking mama’s boy is the last sight you’ll see before moving on to the next life.

2.  Freddy Krueger, Nightmare on Elm Street

If his looks, personality, and song doesn’t already scare you, try to imagine a villain coming at you the one place you have no control, your dreams; by far the scariest choice of venue to attack his victims.

1. Michael Meyers, Halloween

Twisted beyond all repair, Michael Meyers knows how to scare even the toughest of audiences.  With hell behind him and a seriously messed up childhood, Michael is unstoppable, restless, and will never cede until he has satisfied his urge to kill.
